Entertainment Alternatives in Scottsdale, AZ

Scottsdale is known for its many art galleries, performing arts venues, luxury restaurants and nightclubs, premiere shopping locations, and cultural attractions and events that celebrate the city's reputation of "The West's Most Western Town."

There are over 125 art galleries in Scottsdale, which are most famous for featuring western and Native American art, such as the Scottsdale Celebration of Fine Art. The performing arts district is the location of many venues for the performing arts, such as the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art has many modern and contemporary works from around the world. Other museums include the Buffalo Museum of America and the Heard Museum North.

Some of the biggest events in Scottsdale are the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, which has thousands of visitors who come to see the horse competitions, the Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol, which is perhaps the most famous present-day cowboy event, and the Barrett-Jackson Auto Show, which attracts car enthusiasts from across the world.

While there are no major league professional team sports in Scottsdale, many residents of Scottsdale support the teams in nearby Phoenix and Glendale. The Scottsdale Stadium serves as the spring training home of the San Francisco Giants, and the home of the Scottsdale Scorpions, a minor league baseball team. Golf is also very popular in Scottsdale, and the city has over 200 courses and hosts the FBR Open Golf Tournament every spring.

Scottsdale also has a wide variety of shopping options, with over 2,500 retail shops, and many popular shopping centers such as Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Fashion Square.
